Plans to redevelop the area around Winchester Station

David Ashe of CH Design and Paul Bulkeley from Snug Projects presented their vision for the redevelopment of area around Winchester station at a public meeting in the city. The event was organised by WINACC and the City of Winchester Trust joint working group, Winchester 2020. The vision promotes the development potential of the area and called for land owners to begin developing a coordinated development framework for the area. This is an important area of the city that currently performs significantly below its potential. Our analogy is that the city, like a rotten window, and should be cut back until hard wood is found. There is certainly plenty of rotting wood, in the form of underutilised sites and poor public realm in the area and any proposals should extend as far as the rot.
