Snug Mixed Use

A mixed use development of 10no. one bedroom apartments in Totton

The view from Rumbridge Street

Snug Architects are proposing a mixed use residential and office development at the site of their existing studio on the corner of Rumbridge Street and Bartram Road in Totton. The proposal creates 10no. new one bedroom apartments in two floors of new development, located above the existing ground floor studio. The apartments are accessed off a new entrance on Rumbridge Street.

The scheme will achieve ambitious environmental performance both in terms of operation energy use and embodied energy and seeks to achieve a development that attains the AECB Building Standard, an exemplar of sustainable low energy, low carbon buildings design.

As a practice we are committed to helping to solve the housing crisis and this development forms an important part of this commitment. We will be trialing what we call Syndic Building, a new innovative approach to property development that encourages first time buyers with a 10% deposit to become investors in their own home, receiving a profit share when they purchase the completed property. If you are a first time buyer looking to buy an innovate modern one bedroom apartment in a highly sustainable location please get in touch.

The new residential element occupies the left hand side (north) of the existing footprint and will be clad in render. We are exploring two options. These are; White render for both residential floors OR Dark grey for the two lower floors and stone grey for the top floor only. We welcome your comments.

If you are a local resident and would either like to know more about the development or to comment on what you see here, please email your queries and comments to info@snugarchitects.co.uk with the title 'Snug Mixed Use Consultation'. It is our intention to submit an application in early June 2021 and we would be grateful if all comments could be emailed to us no later than 30th May 2021.
